The 1080P, High Definition difference

With a high installed base of HDTV’s, in 2009 most local cable operators and broadcasters began offering High-Definition local insertion for small businesses.

The clip at left shows a screen shot taken from a series of productions we shot for Industrial Training and Management Institute. With a resolution up to 6x higher than that of standard television, IMTI knew that a high-definition commercial was just what they needed to stand out from the competition.

After much debate, we decided on shooting exclusively on Canon 5D Mark II SLR. This camera produces fantastic, film like results on a budget. We use the Cinevate Shooters Rig for handling of neutral density filters, pro mist and polarizers. We use Cinevate's follow focus for pulls. On location we use SmallHD DP1x so that agency representatives can have a look at the shots. We run antique glass: Nikon, Zeiss and some Russian 35mm high speed lenses. Most of our lenses are F1.4 - F2.0.
